Good Dry Dog Food

Dry dog food has been an industry standard for decades, although some dog struggle to digest it. We have developed a cold-pressed recipe full of essential protein, vitamins and minerals that are easier to digest.

Cold Pressed vs Kibble

Traditionally, dog food companies have used a hot extrusion method to produce dry kibble. Unfortunately, this method uses large amounts of heat and energy, releasing greenhouse gases. It also breaks down many of the nutrients from the fresh ingredients and produces pellets that expand in contact with liquid, causing painful bloating.

Instead, we use a cold pressing method with lower temperatures to retain essential goodness and protect the environment. Plus, the pellets are far kinder on furry tums.

How to Serve Our Food

Switching Dog Foods

Changing to healthier dog food is tough, and you should transition carefully to prevent illness. Try this plan:

  • Day 1-2: ¼ new food, ¾ old food
  • Day 3-4: ½ new food, ½ old food
  • Day 5-6: ¾ new food, ¼ old food
  • Day 7 onwards: new food

Ingredients to Avoid in Dry Dog Food?

Unfortunately, some food brands include harmful ingredients in their foods. You should avoid preservatives such as BHA, BHT and TBHQ due to their links with cancers and ethoxyquin due to its link to liver pigmentation. Look out for and avoid the synthetic vitamin Menadione as it is connected to haemolytic anaemia, artificial colourants and dyes linked to cancer and propylene glycol moisturiser due to its association with Heinz body anaemia.

Avoid foods including unspecific general meats as they risk allergic reactions and provide little nutritional value.

Does My Dog Need Senior Dog Food?

Senior dogs often need softer food with lean, high protein content and vitamins and minerals to support their bodies. However, that does not need you must change your dog’s diet. Our food already contains all the nourishment that senior dogs require throughout their golden years. If your elderly dog requires softer food, add water to our kibble to create wet food.
